SMiLE.dk / Party Around The World (NEW DATE) « Thread Started on Sept 14, 2008, 2:59am »
Hey folks .. so to make this clear .. what happened is we contacted amazon due to the fact it said " Out of stock " which essentially means they sold everything.. they simply told us .. " Yep that's what happened " .. so we posted that... then .. we got a call saying "Oh sorry... it's cause we didn't receive the stock" .. ohh ok that's why we said .. then of course some people get negative about it .. and as much as we feel bad .. we weren't to happy either. So as a sorry we posted a free mp3 of Doki Doki to make up for the delay. Now I know some people want to continue to bash the team for this mix up but it will do you no good .. either you sit down and be patient or just don't say anything.
Again to conclude .. the whole error was cause by the print company stating " we will send your stuff friday " and then have them say " oops .. you never gave us the art work " when in fact we did .. so then .. this whole mess up occurred.
I hope this is detailed enough for you and the new date is....
OCTOBER 28th 2008
So relax .. and we will try and get it on iTunes before then if we can.
Thanks for understanding, Mr. Jay & The SMiLE Team

This is exactly the explanation I wanted to hear. I think a lot of people here were too quick to lunge at the SMiLE team before they even knew 100% what happened. I figured that with a little time, Mr. Jay would have things figured out and give us a proper explanation. People wanted explanations too early and there was no point in Mr. Jay trying to explain things before he fully knew what was going on too. It was an error out of the team's control and I am not angry in the least at anyone except for the printing people, and they're only human too, so we can't give them too much heat. It's coming out Oct. 28th, so everyone just needs to calm down and get their panties out of a bunch. I honestly don't think that it should be put on iTunes until after the physical release. I think that by posting it on iTunes prematurely, CD sales would drop significantly, and I don't think anyone wants that. If it does go on iTunes, I think every track should be "Album Only" except for "Doki Doki" and then after the physical release, that could change. If it was up to me, I wouldn't have it on iTunes at all until the physical release, but that's just my 2 cents.

I'd really like it on itunes (Canada), because then it would be cheaper. As far as I know, I can't get it from Amazon Canada, which means I would have to buy it on Amazon U.S., have it cost more, and pay a bundle on shipping. But if it's not going to be on itunes, no matter, I'll get it anyways : )

I agree with Cesar.. I wouldn't like the see the cd sales drop because of an online release.. Perhaps you can post only a few songs on iTunes? Or post all the songs, but only one by one.. maybe one each week, so that it would be quicker to hear all the songs by buying the physical cd rather than on iTunes. Sorry, I'm just trying to add my thoughts as well.. as an important bubblegum dance, I think physical cd sales should be very high!

Thank you Mr. Jay for this explanation I've updated the site with a notice just to let people know if they don't come on here.

Hmmm, that does sound like a good idea, Hoshi. =3 Maybe just put some of the songs. Like Doki Doki, Summer Party, Koko Soko, and Japanese Boy. Just saying.... =P
And by the way, how's the Doki Doki CD Single coming along? ^^ Just curious. =D

We weren't trying to be mean - but there was no way to know if what was happening would have been explained to us if someone hadn't asked. If i'd have been sure, I never would have said anything - I guess it was a little bit of jump on my part, but w/e But Mr. Jay did explain, so everything is fine.
